In the second to last episode of The Good Place, the gang moves onto the next phase of the afterlife, where they make some new friends. Who is Patty?
After this episode of The Good Place, only two more episodes remain. But those two episodes air as the one-hour series finale, meaning we’re gearing up for the end with the penultimate outing. Last episode, Eleanor and the gang worked overtime to get their idea for the afterlife off the ground with a newly confident Chidi in tow. The fresh alliance between Team Cockroach and Shawn’s crew led to butting heads while fine-tuning the tests and systems for the new and improved afterlife. In the end, our six faves hopped on an air balloon to the Good Place.
But it can’t be all smooth sailing into the perfect forever. Right? Not with technically three episodes left until the series finale. However, for the time being, the gang seems to receive a reprieve from the stress of saving the afterlife, as they make some new friends and seem to have a little more fun than usual.
Still, it wouldn’t be The Good Place without an unforeseen twist. Let’s not trust these new friends just yet, even if the humans are inclined to. We’re keeping an eye out for this titular Patty and hoping that they don’t throw any more forking forks in the road.

Are we wrong to not trust that the humans are on the right path? Could they face any more difficulties in the real Good Place, or have all their troubles vanished? Who is Patty? Does this person, place, or thing (you never know) pose any new moral dilemmas?
How will the new episode set up the series finale? Will there be any hints about how it all comes to end? Can we anticipate another problem to solve, something potentially related to the new system? Will all parties involved remain dedicated to making it work?
