Tuesday TV ratings: The Conners live episode gives show a boost
The Conners went live on Feb. 11, and it was certainly good for the TV ratings. Most other shows struggled. Here’s a look at the Tuesday results.
It wasn’t the greatest nights for TV ratings on Feb. 11. While The Conners benefitted from going live and gave a boost to later ABC shows, other networks struggled. Here’s a breakdown of the Tuesday TV ratings for the night and what they could mean for shows.
The show that had the best night was certainly The Conners, which saw a 25% boost in the demo and 19% boost in the total audience. It would win the demo with its 1.1 rating, just ahead of NCIS‘ 1.0 rating. However, the TV crime drama would be the show to take the top spot in the total audience, despite a 4% dip.
More from Ratings
- Thursday TV ratings: Grey’s Anatomy up, Walker Independence down
- Wednesday TV ratings: One Chicago mixed, Kung Fu down (November 9)
- Tuesday TV ratings: The Resident and Monarch down (November 8)
- Monday TV ratings: All American down, Quantum Leap up (Nov. 7)
- Weekend live TV ratings: Fire Country and FBI mixed
Positive results continued for Bless This Mess, mixed-ish, and black-ish. Will it be enough to save them, though? That’s something up for debate. I think mixed-ish and Bless This Mess are likely safe, but I get the feeling this is black-ish‘s last season.
ABC debuted a new series in the 10 p.m. slot, following Emergence‘s lackluster season finale. For Life did well in the demo, pulling in a 0.7 rating and sitting at the top of the timeslot. The total audience was positive, with 3.178 million people tuning in, but it was the bottom of the timeslot.
While ABC enjoyed a positive night, other networks didn’t get the same results. NCIS lost 13% of its demo and 4% of its audience, and the drops continued with both FBI and FBI: Most Wanted. I don’t think these figures are a concern, though. Tuesday is a strong night for CBS and I think all three shows will be renewed.
Following a rerun of The Resident, Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back lost 26% of its demo and 34% of its total audience. While Gordon Ramsay remains popular with FOX, the network may cancel this show and head back to the drawing board for new ideas. The TV ratings haven’t been stable this season at all.
The only other show waiting on a decision for renewal or cancel is Ellen’s Game of Games, which lost 12% of its demo and 9% of its total audience. However, the ratings are still strong for the timeslot. This is a show I’m sure is going to be safe.
