The Biggest Loser Season 18, Episode 4: Rating the contestants
Thus far on The Biggest Loser, we’ve seen that whichever person doesn’t give it their all is likely going home. Who is the next person to slack off?
The Biggest Loser is forcing not only the competitors to challenge themselves, but the coaches Steve Cook and Erica Lugo are struggling as well. How do you reach people who have refused to exercise and eat right the majority of their lives? The Biggest Loser looks for the next person to take a break and slack off, as we drop blow 10 competitors. This episode there is a raft challenge and a video call back home.
Side note: Bob Harper’s silver hair looks horrible. I didn’t realize how bad it looked until a commercial aired during the episode in which he had brown hair and talked about heart attacks. Here are the ratings.
1. Jim DiBattista
Team: Red
Starting Weight: 385 lbs.
Breakdown: Beast mode! Jim almost single-handedly carries the red team in the rowing challenge. During his video conference with his wife, his voice breaks like a pre-teen busting through the puberty ceiling. His two boys jump on screen and a moment later he’s barely able to speak.
Speaking of which, he nearly passes out on the treadmill during the last workout.
Weight Loss: This episode, 10 lbs.; Total, 55 lbs.
2. Micah Collum
Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 326 lbs.
Breakdown: Micah has obviously never been whitewater rafting. He pushes the boat out in the challenge and stays in the water, not knowing how difficult it is to jump back in the boat. Luckily, the others pull him in.
Micah’s mother says he’s an inspiration. His mother and his little brothers are starting to lose weight because of the example being set.
Weight Loss: This episode, 9 lbs.; Total, 37 lbs.

3. Megan Hoffman
Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 290 lbs.
Breakdown: Megan’s brother Carl looks almost exactly like her. Awkward AF. She battles hard in the gym, however, and surprises the others with a great week. She even surprises herself a bit.
Weight Loss: This episode, 8 lbs.; Total, 36 lbs.
4. Kyle Yeo
Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 302 lbs.
Breakdown: Kyle chats with his mother, and she immediately says his face is skinnier. He holds in the tears for the most part, but when his boyfriend Alonzo is mentioned he sniffles.
Weight Loss: This episode, 6 lbs.; Total, 32 lbs.
5. Kristi McCart
Team: Red
Starting Weight: 264 lbs.
Breakdown: So much for the knee injury.
Teri gets to see her toddler son Cole, and her composure is actually commendable.
Weight Loss: This episode, 6 lbs.; Total, 29 lbs.
6. Kim Davis
Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 242 lbs.
Breakdown: She sits out the challenge because the Blue team has more teammates. Her visit with her son is cute, even though he shows virtually no emotion. If he’s happy, he should tell his face. After the call Kim sobs almost uncontrollably.
Weight Loss: This episode, 5 lbs.; Total, 24 lbs.
7. Katarina Bouton
Team: Red
Starting Weight: 293 lbs.
Breakdown: The video chat with her mother is partial Kardashian and a little bit of happiness. It’s actually a bit odd, to be quite honest. Otherwise a down episode for her.
Weight Loss: This episode, 4 lbs.; Total, 32 lbs.
8. Teri Aguliar
Team: Red
Starting Weight: 256 lbs.
Breakdown: She puts in a great effort in the challenge, helping Jim carry weights. She’s starting to feel good about her upper-body strength. Has confidence finally emerged?
She was all smiles in her video chat. Her daughter looks like a model, just like her mother, and her husband says he’s balding more rapidly now that she’s gone.
Weight Loss: This episode, 4 lbs.; Total, 28 lbs.
9. Delores Tomorrow
Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 280 lbs.
Breakdown: She says she’s motivated to set an example for the kids she mentors back home, and even chats with them instead of a family member.
It doesn’t translate to the scale, however, and she’s country ham salty about losing.
Weight Loss: This episode, 1 lb.; Total, 23 lbs.
10. Domenico Brugellis
11. PhiXavier Holmes
12. Robert Richardson
