Monday TV ratings: The Voice returns down, The Bachelor up
The Voice’s latest season debuted down, while The Bachelor continues to rise. Here’s a look at the TV ratings for Feb. 24 and what they mean for the shows.
While CBS had a night of reruns, other networks tried to take advantage. It was a night for the reality shows, although The Voice did debut its new season down from the previous one. Here’s a look at the TV ratings for Feb. 24 and what they could mean.
Monday nights remain dominated by reality TV. The Bachelor rose in the ratings again, which isn’t all that surprising considering we were going from three to two women. The ABC series won the demo with a 1.9 rating and was second in the audience with 6.79 million viewers tuning in.

- Thursday TV ratings: Grey’s Anatomy up, Walker Independence down
- Wednesday TV ratings: One Chicago mixed, Kung Fu down (November 9)
- Tuesday TV ratings: The Resident and Monarch down (November 8)
- Monday TV ratings: All American down, Quantum Leap up (Nov. 7)
- Weekend live TV ratings: Fire Country and FBI mixed
The Voice took over the top spot in the demo with 8.96 million people tuning in. It was also second in the demo with a 1.6 rating. However, both of these figures are down from the Season 17 premiere. The Voice Season 18 saw a 26% loss in the demo and 16% loss in the audience.
Is this a problem? Oh no! It remains a popular show on Monday nights, and the networks are looking at more reality TV. It’s cheaper to make and doesn’t run into problems when there’s a writer’s strike. It’s possibly why only The CW has offered full-network early renewals for scripted shows in case the writer’s strike happens.
Little Big Shot‘s season debut also shows that reality TV remains popular. At least, when it comes to the demo. It rose 12% based on the previous premiere to sit at 0.9. The audience did fall by 18%, but I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about right now. This is also a special, so we’ll see how the regular season holds up.
When it comes to the scripts shows, there was a mixture of results. 9-1-1: Lone Star lost 10% of its demo and 7% of its total audience. it’s worth noting that both figures were the highest for scripted shows throughout the night. I don’t think this is a cause for concern. It remains a popular FOX series and I think, just like its parent show, it will be renewed.
Close behind it was The Good Doctor with its 11% drop in the demo and 6% uptick in the audience. There’s no need to worry about the medical drama, though. ABC has already renewed it.
I’ll leave you with the Monday TV ratings for Feb. 24 to look at all shows.
