Grey’s Anatomy Season 16, Episode 15: DeLuca puts his life on the line
A blizzard has hit Seattle and DeLuca will put himself in harm’s way. Here’s what to expect and how to watch Grey’s Anatomy Season 16, Episode 15 live.
Grey’s Anatomy has tackled plenty of weather-related events, but never in the 16-season run has there been a blizzard of this magnitude. It’s pretty ironic after the “unseasonably warm” weather that allowed Jackson and Seattle’s finest firefighters to go on a camping trip on Station 19.
Now everyone will come together once again for what is being billed as an official crossover event to save lives as Seattle freezes over. Here’s what we know so far.

DeLuca to the rescue?
Episode 14 seemed to signal the end of MerLuca for the time being. Andrew finally found a diagnosis for his mystery patient, but the way he went about abruptly treating Suzanne didn’t sit well with Meredith. An argument ensued all while DeLuca was sleep-deprived and borderline manic. This concerned both Mer and Carina considering his father’s history with mental illness.
Going into “Snowblind,” we know that those closest to DeLuca will continue to be concerned about him when he “volunteers to perform a life-threatening task during a blizzard.” We can only assume he’s heading out into the cold to save someone’s life, but at what cost?
There’s no indication that DeLuca will die while trying to be a hero, but there’s also no proof that he’ll survive. Looking ahead at the info blurbs for the next two episodes, DeLuca’s name is nowhere to be found. We can’t say for certainty what will go down, but expect Andrew’s status to be a focus in this hour.
Bailey helps Joey
There’s no denying that Bailey has developed a connection with her patient, Joey. He and his siblings are currently homeless, leading many to believe that Bailey and Ben could try to adopt them. It’s a thought that’s also crossed my mind, and I wouldn’t be opposed. After the powerhouse couple suffered a miscarriage, it would be heartwarming to see them provide a home to the kids in need.
We aren’t sure how Bailey will help Joey this week, but there’s a thought that this could be the start of the adoption conversation. Perhaps she offers to provide his foster siblings shelter while the blizzard wreaks havoc?
Richard trains a new intern
Elsewhere in Episode 15, Richard resumes his teaching responsibilities at Grey Sloan by training a new intern. Based on the guest star casting for “Snowblind,” this intern could be Annie Funke (Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders) as Kendra. How will Richard treat this new intern while dealing with his failing marriage and the blizzard?
Check out the chilling Grey’s Anatomy promo for a glimpse at what’s to come:
"Meredith and Carina question DeLuca’s uncharacteristic behavior when he volunteers to perform a life-threatening task during a blizzard. Meanwhile, Bailey tries to help Joey with his future, while Richard trains a new intern at the hospital."
