More Tarlos? A baby? A crossover? We want to see 9-1-1: Lone Star follow-up its excellent first season with an eventful Season 2.

While FOX has yet to officially confirm the second-season renewal of 9-1-1: Lone Star, it’s all but certain that the successful spin-off will return for Season 2. Not to mention, after the broadcast of the season finale, FOX appeared to have let its little secret slip that we’d be seeing the 126 back for another season soon. But since we’re refusing to live in world where Lone Star doesn’t come back for another season, we’re jumping the gun and compiling an iron-clad wishlist for Season 2.

Following its action-packed first season, 9-1-1: Lone Star will, just like its predecessor, take it to the next level. From getting to know the characters better to watching their lives continue to progress, we want next season — fingers crossed with an expanded episode count — to kick this well-oiled machine into high gear. Of course, we want more Tarlos (who doesn’t?), a baby for a certain couple, and that highly requested crossover. But what else do we want from Season 2?

1. Tarlos, Tarlos, TARLOS!

More from FOX

After a season of hot, hot heat and agonizing push and pull, T.K. and Carlos finally seem to be on the same page as the rest of us for Season 2. Wisely, the first season went as slowly as it could with Tarlos following their instant chemistry and Mr. Tyler Kennedy’s various setbacks. But next season needs to put the pedal to the metal.

We want to see their love-at-first-sight connection blossom into a real courtship and relationship. It’s been a minute since we’ve seen an onscreen relationship click so quickly and beautifully, and we don’t want a minute to go to waste with Tarlos.

2. A baby for Judd and Grace.

In the season finale of 9-1-1: Lone Star, Judd and Grace each dealt with heavy matters together and separately. While Grace took a call from space that was truly heart-wrenching, she also helped Judd handle his father’s declining ability to take care of himself. As Judd’s father compromises with the changes he’ll need to make to his lifestyle, he asks his son and daughter-in-law for a grandchild, which doesn’t seem too far out of the realm of possibility. On the surface (keywords), Judd seems to have slayed his past demons, so why not take another positive step forward?

3. Owen healthy and dating… someone else.

Who doesn’t want to see Owen beat cancer? Selfishly, we all want him to overcome this obstacle and walk away healthy, if not just to continue the hair treatments that are no doubt weighing heavily on his mind. But we also want to see the leader of the 126 happy and dating a certain someone.

No, not Zoe. She’s wonderful, but Natalie Zea has been booked in an NBC pilot. While there’s still a chance of her returning, 9-1-1: Lone Star should start movement on Owen’s genuine spark with Michelle. There’s something there, and they both deserve an Athena-Bobby-level love.

4. Backstories and more stories.

Across the 10 episodes of Season 1, we started to get to know who these characters are and, better yet, we caught glimpses of what brought them to where they are now. But like how 9-1-1 turns back the clock to give us the full story on each of its characters, we need to spend a little more time with Marjan, Paul, Carlos, and Mateo. But in lieu of looking in the rearview for too long, we want to see Season 2 continue to build on their stories in the midst of the crazy cases they face at work every day. Let’s just steer clear of any dead-end twists about lawsuits, okay?

5. A crossover with 9-1-1.

Perhaps this is the biggest “duh” of the century, but we need a crossover between the two series, right? Lone Star’s season finale hinted at a potential crossover when Judd alluded to Chimney’s close encounter with rebar in the brain, confirming that the series are at least in the same universe.

The possibilities for how the 126 and 118 could intersect are endless, but one of the crews will have to travel from Austin to Los Angeles or vice versa. Nothing would make us happier than seeing the chosen family get bigger after working together to save a few lives.
