I Still Believe is now playing in theaters and having audiences reaching for the tissues! Is the romantic tale based on a true story?

If you went to see the movie I Still Believe in theaters and found yourself falling in love with the sweet and emotional story, welcome to the club! I Still Believe is a tearjerker! And learning that it is based on a true story makes our hearts ache even more! That’s right, the movie is pulled from the life of Jeremy Camp! We’ve got all details about the singer-songwriter, what really happened, and where you can hear more of his music!

I Still Believe is directed by the Erwin Brothers, Christian film directors popular for Woodlawn, October Baby, I Can Only Imagine and others. The movie stars KJ Apa, Britt Robertson, Shania Twain, and Melissa Roxburgh. Apa portrays Christian music singer-songwriter Jeremy Camp and follows Camp and his first wife Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp. And, for the most part, it gets the story pretty well!

Shortly before Jeremy and Melissa are married, they learn Melissa has ovarian cancer. In love and full of hope and faith, they wed and do their best to fight through Melissa’s illness. Unfortunately, it doesn’t end well. Melissa passes away in Feb. 2001, just over four months after marrying Jeremy. “I Still Believe” is the first song Jeremy writes after her death. The movie also covers Jeremy meeting his second wife, Adrienne, who he marries in Dec. 2003.

The movie is a sweet and emotional ride! Whether you have heard of Jeremy Camp or not, you’ll love this movie! Not into romantic films? Skip it! Otherwise, escape the reality of today and head to the movies.
