The Biggest Loser is down to only five competitors left! Will Jim continue his dominance, or will someone else dethrone him?

Steve Cook and Erica Lugo are way past cheering their teams on for the win. Now they are challenging the competitors in different ways. Erica is using weight training to create The Biggest Loser, and Steve is pushing hard with a lot more high intensity training. Right now it looks like the remaining Blue team members have a minor leg up.

On to the ratings…

1. Jim DiBattista

Team: Red
Starting Weight: 385 lbs.
Breakdown: Jim cries almost the second he sees his wife. A shaking mess. His video is first and others start crying as well. (Side note: Why are people on reality shows gone for weeks and cry like they haven’t seen family members in months and months? It all seems overblown, especially for someone with military experience.)

For the challenge this week Jim loses to Kristi. He’s normally not great in challenges, but this time it’s mostly because Kristi receives an advantage in the fourth leg of the challenge. He has three tires to pull, and Kristi has two. Guess where she pulls ahead of him.

Weight Loss: This episode, 10 lbs.; Total, 95 lbs.

2. Micah Collum

Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 326 lbs.

More from Reality TV

Breakdown: Coach Steve doesn’t think Micah is providing his all. In fact, he’s a bit upset with Micah because he’s the most athletic and youthful person in the competition. For his part, Micah knows it’s the truth, and may connect it to family problems. His mother, however, despite her years of addiction and abuse, pleads her case to The Biggest Loser jury, apologizing profusely to her son over and over.

The motivation talk with Micah works. He crushes Kyle in every single portion of the challenge, finishing in a time of 6:03. The 1lb weigh-in ends up being critical and saves Micah from elimination. Maybe more motivation during the week is required?

Weight Loss: This episode, 7 lbs.; Total, 64 lbs.

3. Teri Aguliar

Team: Red
Starting Weight: 256 lbs.
Breakdown: Teri’s kids pop up on screen. Her daughter looks like her at a young age, and she probably rules the high school. A cheerleader prototype. Her son, not so much. Definitely takes after his father. Then the boyfriend chimes in, and he’s definitely batting out of his league.

It’s pretty amazing how Teri is keeping up with the others. She limited cardiovascularly in terms of her options, and yet she continues to produce good numbers compared to the others.

Weight Loss: This episode, 6 lbs.; Total, 50 lbs.

4. Kyle Yeo

Team: Blue
Starting Weight: 302 lbs.
Breakdown: Kyle’s dad looks exactly the same as Kyle. He’d like to workout with Kyle when Kyle returns home. All other castmates think they look like twins. The years Kyle missed by not showing his true self really hurts him and causes the waterworks.

The challenge is pretty tough on Kyle, but mostly because he has to go against Micah. Unmotivated Micah is beatable; motivated he is unstoppable.

Weight Loss: This episode, 7 lbs.; Total, 56 lbs.

5. Kristi McCart

Team: Red
Starting Weight: 264 lbs.
Breakdown: The first person on screen is Kristi’s baby, and for a second I wondered how the toddler figured out FaceTime. Her husband chimes in, however, and provide an inspiring message. Kudos to Kristi, because she didn’t really even shed a tear despite leaving a very young baby at home for a reality show.

Kristi beats Jim in the challenge this week, winning her heat. Ultimately, she is behind the first three legs of the challenge and later wins with a finishing time of 7:38. She comes in second overall. No 1lb weight advantage and she needed it. She falls below the red line and goes home in 5th place.

Weight Loss: This episode, 5 lbs.; Total, 49 lbs.

6. Kim Davis

7. Megan Hoffman

8. Katarina Bouton

9. Delores Tomorrow

10. Domenico Brugellis

11. PhiXavier Holmes

12. Robert Richardson
