When Amy brings her son to the store, Glenn’s criticism leads to an unfriendly competition between babies in a thankfully hilarious Superstore.

Luckily, laughs are never out of stock at Cloud 9, and Superstore delivered the escapism the whole world needs right now. Amy’s forced to bring Parker to work, which invites the staff to poke and prod at her parenting. Glenn, the most unlikely of judges, makes Amy feel like the opposite of a supermom when he calls in Jerusha to have an ill-fated playdate with Parker and Rose.

While Amy navigates mom shaming from her closest co-workers, Cheyenne and Sandra unravel a conspiracy theory that Jonah’s actually Parker’s father and Amy’s lying. The delusion continues as Dina prepares for a birthday date with her new boyfriend, and her frighteningly extravagant gift (emphasis on frightening) makes Garrett step in help her… and maybe reignite their flame?

Let’s recap the latest episode of Superstore with the five best jokes from “Playdate.”

1. “Just because you send money to a man in Ghana, doesn’t make him your boyfriend.”

Amy and Jonah walk in late for the morning meeting because all of Parker’s childcare fell through. As a last resort, Amy brought him to the store, which somehow opens the floor to criticism from the staff. She’s holding him wrong, he’s sitting in his diaper too long… nothing’s off limits. But it’s not the only headache hitting Cloud 9. Dina’s upcoming date with her boyfriend, Brian, lands on his birthday, and she’s attempting to plan the perfect present. Well, perfect isn’t really an apt word.

2. “Is it palm oil? Because it’s destroying our rainforests.”

Noticing that Amy’s struggling to balance her managerial duties with looking after Parker, Glenn class in his wife, Jerusha, who brings along their littlest daughter, Rose (the daughter Dina carried), for a playdate. At first, Amy’s relieved. But Glenn and Jerusha lay on the working mom guilt on Amy far too thick. They demean her choice of snacks, toys, discipline — everything. Just wait until Amy hears about Sandra and Cheyenne’s conspiracy theory about Jonah being Parker’s father.

3. “She doesn’t listen to outside input, like Tyler Perry.”

Mateo tries to help Dina with her date planning, but he quickly finds her ideas going off the rails. For starters, Dina stole Brian’s driver’s license to get a picture of him (Facebook? Instagram? His practice’s website?) for a massive portrait of the two of them. Her ideas get larger and crazier from there, much to the morbid delight of Mateo and to the distress of Garrett. See, Dina thinks Garrett’s still got the hots for her, which might be true, but he’s also keeping her from being a Stage 5 clinger.

4. “It’s all three of you in there, like some sort of sexless, Midwestern pot pie?”

The back and forth between Amy and Glenn continues to heat up in an explosive debate in the break room. After Jonah tries to spy on Glenn and a supposedly potty trained Rose (and gets whacked in the face by the door), Amy lets Glenn have it. Honestly, he deserves it. Why should he degrade Amy for making a living for her family, instead of a stay-at-home mom, while also being a full-time parent? A fight about pacifiers and sleeping behaviors ends with the creation of a baby obstacle course.

5. “Of course, it’s full of Lithuanians. They can’t get enough of me.”

While the rest of the store participates in the “baby dome,” Garrett finally talks Dina out of the wild extremes she was going to for her date and into something less grand. If you were looking closely, you might have even seen a few sparks flying between the two. Back at the baby dome, Parker and Rose don’t move a muscle and fail at helping prove their parents’ point. The point the babies do prove is that every parent is doing the best they can with the hand they’re dealt.
