Saturday Night Live: Is SNL new tonight, March 21?

COVID-19 has been shaking up the entertainment industry. Will a new episode of Saturday Night Live premiere tonight?

Movies are going straight to VOD or getting a Digital release early and TV productions have come to an abrupt halt. As we all continue to practice social distancing, life as we know it has come to a pause. Needless to say, Saturday Night Live is not going to be featuring a new episode tonight. It’s really too bad as we can all use some laughter nowadays.

The decision is not because of the coronavirus outbreak, though, there was never going to be a new episode tonight, March 21. SNL is on a two-week break, so it wasn’t going to return until next Saturday, March 28 with John Krasinski as host and musical guest Dua Lipa. It would have been an exciting night, but there’s also no new episode next week or in the near future, unfortunately.

So when will Saturday Night Live return? Again, we don’t know. Trust me, we are all as anxious about things as you are, but until COVID-19 is under control, the world won’t be back to normal. At the moment, New York is in lockdown, which is a good thing. The sooner we can eliminate the spread, the sooner the world as we know it can resume. We’ll be sure to keep you posted!

Other hosts and musical guests have not been announced. Once SNL is back on, we are expecting Krasinski and Lipa to be the first set of guests.

What will you be watching while we stay home to help eliminate the spread? You can always still watch re-runs of your favorite SNL episodes! Stay safe!
