At the end of season 2 of SEAL Team, CIA Agent Mandy Ellis was removed from her position as CIA Liaison for Team Bravo. So how has she returned without explanation?

In the season 2 finale of SEAL Team, Mandy Ellis, portrayed by Jessica Pare, burned a CIA asset, who was later killed, in order to protect Jason and his teammates. Because of her decision, she was removed from the field. In fact, her boss told her in no uncertain terms that she wouldn’t be anywhere near Team Bravo ever again.

"I’m pulling you out of DEVGRU, out of the field. And for the rest of your career, you will only see the world through the worst D.C. office window that I can locate."

The episode ended with Mandy looking out through a window in a small office, giving viewers the impression the agent was going to be facing an uphill battle in season 3. But that hasn’t been the case. Not only is Mandy back working with Team Bravo, seemingly without any negative effects, she has even put the team at risk with an overly aggressive approach that, surprisingly, hasn’t caught the attention of her bosses.

In Siege Protocol, her insistence that Bravo save her asset, Dr. Craig, put the entire team in jeopardy, including Havoc which, for the first time in the series, was discovered by enemy combatants. Perhaps because of the loss of the CIA asset she willingly gave up to save Bravo Team, she is too on-edge. Regardless, there has been no clarification as to how Mandy has returned to the team and/or the field at all.

With a series that plays itself as close to reality as possible, this seems to be a major oversight. Though Mandy’s actions last season were to save the team, she should have bore some punishment for her actions.
