Realizing the trouble they could be in, Kim makes a shocking proposal. Here are three questions we have after watching Better Call Saul Season 5, Episode 6.

Please note there are spoilers ahead if you are not caught up on Better Call SaulWatch all the episodes first before reading on.

Despite Kim asking Jimmy to drop their plan against Mesa Verde, Mr. Goodman refuses to back down. What Kim finds the most disappointing is the element of surprise as she had no idea Jimmy would be moving forward with everything on top of making additional demands. Jimmy made Kim look foolish in front of her bosses and peers. Jimmy defends his actions and tells Kim that now she is off the hook, since she truly had no idea this would be happening.

Kim, however, is still afraid that, somehow, they are going to be caught. This could cost Kim her license, which she has worked tirelessly her entire life to get. Or worse, it can take away Kim’s freedom, too, putting her in prison for a number of years. It makes us question what’s going to happen to Kim Wexler.

1. Marriage proposal?

Yes, ladies and gentleman, Kim just did that! This wasn’t done romantically or at all how we were expecting, but wow were we all surprised! In the middle of their argument, which was leading to a breakup, Kim suggests that she and Jimmy get married. Say what? Why?

We’re assuming it has to do with the law. In a criminal case, the defendant’s spouse can’t testify. It’s also referred to as spousal immunity. In case Kim gets caught or anyone has any suspicions at all, they are more secured as a married couple than they are single, because they can’t testify against each other. This is why Kim suggests they either break up and never speak or see each other again, or they get married.

 2. Is Lalo done for?

That shot of Lalo dropping his keys wasn’t accidental, in symbolizes his fall. But this fall could be temporary. I highly doubt Team Gus is going to be able to bring down such a strong and clever rival this easily. Lalo isn’t done. Don’t get me wrong, I know (well all do, thanks to Breaking Bad) that Gus will eventually be victorious in his plan, but it’s going to cost him greatly, I’m sure. More tragically, Nacho may not make it out alive.

Mike is also not a big fan of Gus, and tells Nacho they should talk once this is over with Lalo, so what will happen that will make Mike stick around? He is still working for Gus in Breaking Bad, why? And what happens to Nacho?

3. What happens to Kim Wexler?

We have been worried about Kim Wexler from the beginning! But now, we’re beginning to think the reason she is not part of Breaking Bad is because she’s going to end up in jail. Jimmy may try to do all he can to get her out, but it’s not going to work. I’m surprised this doesn’t encourage him to change his ways, though. If anything, he becomes worse. The best case scenario is Kim serves her time and leaves Jimmy for good, never to see him again.

Okay, this may have been more than three questions, but we’re so curious! What do you think will happen to Kim? Do you see Kim and Jimmy getting married? What about Lalo’s deal with Gus?

Better Call Saul premieres Monday nights only on AMC.
