David Tennant is back on our screens in Deadwater Fell on Acorn TV in April. It’s one of five shows you need to check out next month.

It’s time to get more David Tennant on your TV screens. Acorn TV debuts Deadwater Fell to the North American population throughout the month of April, and it’s just one of five excellent TV shows joining the streaming service in April 2020.

Let’s be honest; you need great TV right now. We’re all stuck in the house and soon our favorite network TV shows are going to be off the air. FBI and The Resident have already announced early season finale dates and Supernatural is off the air for a while. All of this was due to productions shutting down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

More from Streaming

Fortunately for streamers, the TV shows are ready before they air. And many shows on Acorn TV have already aired in the UK or other countries in full, which means there’s no break in regular programming for the time being.

But you don’t necessarily need the full list of content. It can get overwhelming. Here are five top selections on Acorn TV in April 2020. As usual, I’ll finish it off with the entire list of arrivals so you can find something you’ll definitely enjoy.

5. Barristers

Let’s start with a documentary. If you’ve ever been interested in the UK judicial system, this is a great insight. It’s a five-episode documentary series that looks at the court system across the UK. This event was the first time cameras were allowed inside the Northern Ireland courts.

There are a variety of cases throughout the documentary. Viewers get to see the barristers build their cases outside of the court and then fight for their clients inside the courts. Some of those involve a mother fighting for access to see her children, while others are set in London’s Supreme Court.

All episodes are available to stream from Apr. 27.
