In the new episode of Superstore, Carol’s back at Cloud 9, and her return has Amy running interference with the apprehensive employees.

What’s the scariest possibility imaginable for the Cloud 9 employees? Other than Amy’s impending departure, it has to be Carol’s return to the store. Superstore welcomes back Carol after taking a forced leave of absence due to killing Sandra’s cat. You know, just the normal co-worker drama. However, Carol coming back at the store creates a massive headache for Amy when Sandra, Dina, and nearly every employee refuses to work with Carol and give her a second chance.

Meanwhile, Mateo and Garrett stay out of the Carol drama on the store floor when they decide to take advantage of the gig economy and hire someone on an app to do their jobs for them. Obviously, because this is Superstore, Mateo and Garrett’s scheme will backfire on them big time. Elsewhere, Jonah joins the Raise the Wage fight, but when the leader of the protest believes Jonah could be a narc for the enemy, he goes out of his way to prove he’s on the right side of the fight. If only this person knew Jonah… Could you imagine him trying to be a narc?

What brings Carol back to work so suddenly? Has she completed all necessary classes, therapies, and exorcisms (jokes… kind of) beforehand? Are the employees refusing to work with Carol in solidarity with Sandra, or are they merely worried about their own safety? (Understandable either way.)

Why do Mateo and Garrett decide to exploit the gig economy? Will hiring someone to do their jobs for them work out in their favor, or will they get a rude awakening? How will Amy find out they were slacking? Can Jonah successfully prove himself as an activist to the Raise the Wage leader?
