Dynasty returns with Fallon and Liam dealing with parenting woes, while Jeff’s condition worsens and forces Alexis to take extreme measures.

Following Falliam’s explosive engagement party, Dynasty returns to pick up the pieces in an episode that’s full of building blocks for the future. While Liam tries to track down Heidi, Fallon’s on Connor duty, and her stepmothering skills send him hiding in a tree. Dominique fares much better as cameras start rolling on her reality show, but Jeff’s condition worries Alexis. Can Jeff survive a second drugging (at the hands of Adam, no less) and an illness with no known cure?

From powerful to powerless, we’re ranking Carrington manor’s best and brightest on their quest for control. Here’s how the power struggle stacked up in the latest episode of Dynasty Season 3. (Warning: Spoilers ahead!)

1. Fallon

Look. There’s not much on her plate at the moment professionally, at least nothing worth interrupting the current storyline for. (Although we’re still wondering why Evan stole a clump of her hair from her office, but that’s for another day.) But when she accidentally lets it slip to Connor that has mother ran away, she remained in full control of the situation. Okay, she lost him for a hot minute until she found him hiding in a tree, but that’s beside the point. She’s the one who calmed him, she’s the one who appealed to his emotions, and she’s the one who sacrificed her winter white coat for a child that isn’t hers. Looks like Fallon found her inner mama bear.

2. Dominique

Can we give Dominique a standing ovation? She might have pulled off the puppet-mastering of the century. Somehow, she managed to convince Vanessa to participate in her reality series, aptly titled House of Devereaux (sounds like a solid clothing line, but one step at a time), in the name of her singing career. But Dom pulled the hat trick when she talked Vanessa into persuading Culhane into appearing on the show. She’s milking that sex tape for all that it’s worth, and it’s apparently worth a whole hell of a lot of blackmail. Meanwhile, Miss Dom is laughing all the way to the bank.

3. Alexis?

After Fallon and Dominique, things were running slowly at the manor. Dynasty had itself a building week, a filler episode as they call them. But no one knows how to lay groundwork like Alexis. When Jeff mixes up salt with sugar and doesn’t remember the snafu, she worries about the deterioration of his mental state from his condition. Naturally, she consults with Dr. Adam for next steps, but Jeff wisely doesn’t trust Adam’s counsel. Behind Jeff’s back, Adam procures a drug and has Alexis slip it into Jeff’s drink during Vanessa’s party. Two champagnes and a drugged seltzer later and Jeff’s collapsed on his living room floor. This guy has no luck, but Alexis has power, no?

4. Cristal?

Again, we’re not quite sure who to credit with having power this week, but we’ll questionably recognize Cristal’s efforts. After failing to kill Alexis and very nearly offing her brother in the process, Cristal tends to Beto’s bedside at the hospital. He’s in good spirits considering he almost blew himself up. However, he told the cops that the explosion was an accident and that he was an innocent bystander. Cristal isn’t confident that they won’t be screwed. She charters the Carrington jet to take Beto back to Mexico, he almost chokes on pain pills (literally wtf?!), then Cristal agrees to turn over a charitable new leaf with Blake. You can run from your past, but you can’t hide, Cristal!

5. Sammy Jo

Because it was such a slow week, can we give Sam his flowers? He looked fine in that red shirt and was serving looks every time he stole the spotlight on House of Devereaux. Speaking of, Sam knows exactly what he’s doing. He knows that a side character on a reality show can lead to a much larger platform, a spin-off, brand deals, what have you. Granted, he’s already rolling in a Carrington divorce settlement and doesn’t need the cash, but there’s certainly power in taking advantage of a situation happening in your vicinity and looking damn good doing it.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Do we think Fallon and Liam will take Heidi to court over custody of Connor? It seems like Fallon caught the mom bug, but she might be more into this fight for the principle of the matter and the rush of winning. Does Liam even want to be a constant parent to Connor?
  • But we have to give Fallon major props for being stepmom of the year. Julia Roberts could never! (Dynasty fans are probably too young for that reference.)
  • Also, happy 10th Victorious anniversary to Elizabeth Gillies! Jade West forever.
  • Missed you, Kirby!
