Need something new to watch? The freshman drama All Rise should be next on your list with great actors, compelling cases and good friends.

All Rise is one of CBS’s newest shows. It features Simone Missick as Lola Carmichael, a lawyer-turned-judge who is giving those around her a new perspective on everything including social interactions, fashion and law.

It has been one of the highlights of this television season and if you aren’t watching, now is the time to start. Since the show premiered in last September, the ratings have been steady between five and six million viewers a week throughout the season.

While there is still no word if the series will be picked up for a second season, it did get a full first season order, which is positive. It also has done well in its time slot against FOX’s Prodigal Son with good competition from The Voice on Monday nights.

But ratings aren’t the only thing to look at when it comes All Rise. The series has done a good job of changing its tone and not making it feel like something you would typically see on CBS. It actually feels like something you might see from Shonda Rhimes instead.

That’s not why I started watching. I first tuned in because I’m a huge fan of Simone Missick, and she has not disappointed.

While there are plenty of reasons to start watching the series, here are just three to give you a taste on why you should be tuning in.
