In the Dark Season 2 finally premiered tonight and we have tons of questions surrounding the new mysteries ahead in the show’s sophomore season.

Wow, In the Dark Season 2 delivered a premiere episode full of new mysteries and intriguing plotlines that should shape up to make the show’s sophomore season quite the nail-biter. Even better, we already know the show is getting a third season, so we don’t have to waste any nervous energy fretting over its renewal status.

Instead, we can focus on more important questions like how on earth are Jess, Murphy, and Felix going to deal with a money-laundering scheme? Here are the six big questions from the premiere episode.

6. Will Darnell end up helping Murphy, Felix, and Jess?

For starters, I love Jess’s line about seeing Ozark at the beginning of the episode. It became one of my favorite lines of the hour. Besides that, though, Jess, Murphy, and Felix are stuck in Nia’s money-laundering enterprise.

They try to return the money. That doesn’t work. Then they consider going to the cops, but Murphy realizes that they can’t be trusted. That leaves back in square one with $100,000 of Nia’s money (stolen from Max).

The obvious solution here is for Darnell to help them. The police captain sucks at his job and is just as corrupt as Dean, but at least he got Darnell released from prison. Unfortunately for Darnell, he comes home to find Jules dead. We finally learn that one of Nia’s henchmen faked her death and staged an overdose.

Darnell has multiple reasons to turn on Nia now, it would make sense for him to team up with Murphy and co. and they could certainly use his help.

5. Who kills Ben and why?

Last season we spent 13 episodes figuring out what happened to Tyson. This season, it looks like we’ll be trying to figure out who killed Ben and why. Ben is a new character introduced in the opening hour and Chelsea’s brother. It looks like he might go to work at Guiding Light.

The beginning of the episode begins with Murphy standing over a bloody body before we skip back in time by a month, by the end of the hour, we learn the body is Ben’s. There are a lot of hints about cigarettes in this episode, too, it looks like whoever kills Ben is a smoker.
