We can’t believe it’s already time for Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 to end! We’ve got the scoop on what to expect (perfection) and how to watch Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1, Episode 12 live online.

As Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 draws to a close, the expectations for the finale are pretty high. Each of the 11 episodes offered so far have been a true joy to watch, always giving us a little something beyond “just” some fun singing and dancing.

We’re happy to report that Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1, Episode 12, “Zoey’s Extraordinary Dad” smashes all expectations. It’s everything we could ask for—and more. There is something so fitting, and so bittersweet, about the series’ first (and hopefully not last) season finale that it really defies any kind of preview we could offer here.

More from NBC

Since our first introduction to the series, we’ve mentioned its charm, its unique ability to explore universal human experiences through insanely good choreography and songs, and so much more. The acting, the mix of light-hearted moments with those that go much deeper—it’s all been there since minute one. And somehow, in defiance of all that should be possible, the Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist finale makes everything to date look mediocre.

Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1, Episode 12 is the perfect (warning: we will probably use that word a lot, both in this preview and after the episode has aired) final act. It brings some parts of the season-long arc to a definite conclusion, while leaving just enough open to give viewers an idea of where a possible second season might lead us.

Even the most definite endings leave behind some sense of hope, a message that the end is almost certainly never really the end, no matter how much it may seem so. This finale is more of a love letter than a goodbye, both to series viewers and to some of the beloved characters we’ve met along the way.

According to the episode synopsis on NBC MediaVillage:

"After hearing an ominous song, Zoey does everything in her power to stop something bad from happening."

While some bad things are inevitable, this finale still delivers on so much good. Just like every other chapter that brought us to this point, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist Season 1, Episode 12 has something for everyone. Yes, there will be some interesting twists and turns for Zoey’s love life; but yes, that “Zoey’s Extraordinary Dad” title is there for a reason, as well.

Tissues are probably good to have on-hand for this one…but we’ll let the promotional video speak for itself on that.

If you watch just one episode of television live this year, make it “Zoey’s Extraordinary Dad.” It’s beautiful, it’s painful, and it’s everything you never knew you could possibly dare to hope for in a finale.

Yes, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist has been a favorite throughout its entire first season. And no, that doesn’t make anything we’re saying about Episode 12 an over-statement. Just watch. You’ll see.
