We felt like something bad was coming for Cerberus on SEAL Team Season 3, Episode 19. What exactly did happen to our favorite military dog on the finale?

There is no doubt that we all have our favorite characters on any TV show. We can understand or get on with certain personalities. But there’s one character pretty much everyone who watches SEAL Team has loved from day one. It’s all about our favorite military dog, Cerberus.

Played by real narcotics dog Dita the Hair Missile Dog (brilliant name!), Cerberus has been an extremely loyal member of Bravo Team. He (while Dita is a female dog, Cerberus is referred to as a male) has always done her job without complaint, ready to parachute out of a plane at a moment’s notice.

However, on SEAL Team Season 3, Episode 18, Brock mentioned that Cerberus was off his game. This meant some training at the start of Episode 19, and it led to a conversation between Brock and Jason. Brock mentioned that it’s important to “know the signs.” In other words, it’s getting time to retire Cerberus, even though it will hurt everyone.

Brock also mentioned that Cerberus was his third dog. It was as if the show was getting us ready to say goodbye to the awesome dog that we’ve come to know and love. And I immediately said I’d be fine if Cerberus was retired but please don’t allow for a mistake on his final mission and for him to die. That I would not be impressed with. It would be the worst death on TV ever.

What happened to Cerberus at the end of SEAL Team Season 3’s penultimate episode?

We didn’t find out during the episode. It would be left for the Season 3 finale. Did we find out if Cerberus was going to be retired or would there be something worse that would happen?

In the end, nothing was said but he did head out on the mission. That’s not all too surprising considering this episode was never written to be the finale. It’s why the team are still on deployment instead of back home like they would be on normal finales. Fortunately, we have a confirmed fourth season to find out if Cerberus will be retired or not.
