The long-lasting ABC series Grey’s Anatomy now has an astounding 16 seasons available on Netflix.

If you are looking to pass the time during quarantine, consider starting or catching up on Grey’s Anatomy. As one of the longest-lasting shows on television, you can certainly binge-watch a lot of time away.

The latest season, which was the 16th, just finished airing on ABC April 9th. It is now available on Netflix as of May 9th, and the addition provides a LOT of Grey’s Anatomy content to watch as all 16 seasons are available to stream on the service. There is now a total of 363 episodes to stream from the show.

Grey’s Anatomy was affected in its production by the COVID-19 pandemic and had to shut down the filming in mid-March, thus leading to an earlier finale date than anticipated. Instead of airing 25 episodes for Season 16, only 21 could make it to TV, and thus the 21st episode was made the season finale.

More from ABC

The series first aired in early 2005 and has been going strong for a decade and a half now. Throughout its tenure, Grey’s Anatomy has focused on the lives of a multitude of surgeons, physicians, nurses, residents, fellows, and interns tackling the everyday challenges of working at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital.

In between the work, relationships of all kinds are formed, including romance and friendships.

The sitcom protagonist is the globally known Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), who has traveled a long journey throughout the series from starting off as a surgical intern in the first few seasons to reaching Chief of Surgery in the last few seasons.

Season 16 saw some major changes, including Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) leaving the show after achieving the incredible feat of starring as a main character in all 16 seasons.

The makeshift season finale left viewers with some large moments, including Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) giving birth to a boy and Owen (Kevin McKidd) figuring out that Teddy (Kim Raver) had an affair with Tom Koracick (Greg Germann), leading him to cancel their wedding.

The award-winning, highly-praised, popular show will return for a remarkable 17th season, but it is unclear when that will end up premiering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
