FOX releases fall 2020 lineup: 9-1-1 moves midseason, animated fall
Despite the coronavirus pandemic preventing TV shows from filming, FOX has set its fall 2020 lineup. Here’s a look at the weekly schedule.
With TV shows unable to film right now, it means a lot of the usual fall suspects aren’t going to premiere right away. That doesn’t mean they’re not going to air at all, but that many are being pushed to 2021. That’s the case for FOX, as it becomes the first broadcast network to unveil its fall 2020 lineup.
The big reveal is that 9-1-1 Season 4 won’t air in the fall. It and the spin-off 9-1-1: Lone Star are being held for 2021. In a way, this isn’t surprising. The shows can’t film and it’s better to push to later in the year instead of hoping that filming will be able to pick up again in July.

- Is Love Bites from Kitchen Nightmares still open?
There are still some shows with unknown fates. Prodigal Son and The Last Man Standing are two that remain uncertain just yet. We expect both to be renewed, and that news should come soon, but we’re waiting impatiently. Assuming they’re both renewed, they’ve being held for next year too.
The FOX fall 2020 schedule includes shows that were going to air in the spring and summer of 2020. FOX made a quick decision to hold them until the fall to make sure there’s some original programming.
FOX has also acquired L.A.’s Finest from Spectrum and will air the first season during the fall. The second season will also air afterward, according to TVLine.
There are some usual suspects. Sunday’s animated lineup will remain the same, especially with Bob’s Burgers being renewed for an 11th season. Animation has been able to continue filming since it can all be done from home, which means there doesn’t need to be a break in the schedule.
The Masked Singer and Masterchef Junior will also air in the fall. The Masked Singer was just recently renewed for a fourth season, which wasn’t all too surprising considering it’s the No. 1 show on the network. It looks like the network is looking for a way to do a social distancing version of the show. It won’t quite be the same, but it will allow something new and somewhat normal on our TVs.
