There are just seven episodes left of Supernatural and we finally know when they will air. Maybe. As long as schedules hold up, the CW series will return in the fall.

Supernatural fans have been waiting for the end of the series – one that we knew would hurt so much. But with the COVID-19 pandemic, the production of the show was shut down along with all of the other movies and TV shows.

CW painted a slightly clearer picture as to when we could expect to the return. In a call with reporters on Thursday, CW stated the final seven episodes of Supernatural would return in the Fall, according to TV Line.

More from Supernatural

This long, undetermined break almost makes it feel like another season, similar to how cable shows have had a Part 1 and Part 2 to their seasons. In the case of Supernatural, there were several episodes that were already filmed, but post-production work couldn’t be done. Also, there are still two episodes that need to be shot.

The last episode of the hit series aired on March 23, which featured Genevieve Padalecki and Daneel Ackles, the real-life wives of stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

When the show does return this fall, Supernatural will air on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Once the seven episodes are completed, the CW will fill its time slot with Walker, the Walker Texas Ranger reboot starring Jared Padalecki. So, fans can continue to get their fill of Sam for some time yet.

All of this is dependent on filming re-starting. It seems as though CW feels confident about the Fall schedule, and finishing what we have left of the series. Although it could all change if any new or extended stay-at-home orders occur.
