Florida Georgia Line had to choose a song on Songland Season 2, Episode 6. Which hopeful would be the one picked? Here are the spoilers you need.

It’s another week and that means another songwriter gets a song chosen by a big star. Songland Season 2, Episode 6 sees Florida Georgia Line pick a song, but which one was the winner?

The previous week saw Julia Michaels make a choice. Both her and Florida Georgia Line being on Songland makes it clear what this show is all about. This is a chance to give unknown songwriters a chance to work with big names. These artists don’t need songs written for them, but they want to help people get into the business.

More from NBC

You’ve certainly heard of Florida Georgia Line before, even if you don’t listen to country music stations. “Cruise” was the breakout song that hit radio waves everywhere. During Songland Season 2, Episode 6, the songwriters had a chance to learn how to create songs that everyone can sing along to. One thing the winning song had to have was energy.

Shawn Austin from Vancouver, Canada was the first to share his song. “Ain’t Going Nowhere” gained some praise, but there wasn’t a hook. It also didn’t help that the song had lyrics that everyone had pretty much heard anywhere else.

Lukr from Hanover, PA was next. He brought “Hopes High,” which didn’t really have a country style. Lukr admitted quickly that country music isn’t something he usually writes unless it’s by accident.

Next up was Victoria Banks from Muskoka, Canada. Realizing she wanted to write country song, she moved to Nashville, Tennesee. “That’s a Country Song” was inspired by Florida Georgia Line’s “Cruise,” but would it be enough to help her win?

Finally, it was time for Griffen Palmer from Pickering, Canada to take to the stage. “Second Guessing” was his offering to the country music gods. This did certainly have more of a traditional country song sound but that didn’t mean there weren’t ways to transform it.

It was Victoria who wouldn’t get through to the studio. The title was the hurdle to get over. Writing a song about a song is always difficult, and Florida Georgia Line decided it was something that they couldn’t work on as well as with the others.

Who would Florida Georgia Line pick from Songland Season 2, Episode 6? It was all about Griffen Palmer’s “Second Guessing.” It wasn’t something the duo was looking for at first, but became the one both fell in love with.
