True crime fanatics shouldn’t miss Netflix’s documentary series I Am A Killer

Netflix‘s I Am A Killer takes you behind-the-scenes of traumatic crimes and into the minds of the death row inmates responsible through one-on-one interviews. The crime scenes are reenacted, and individuals with knowledge of the crimes offer insight into the minds of the killers, how the kill unfolded, and why the inmate belongs on death row.

The first season of the series, which is similar in tone to Making a Murderer, premiered on the streaming channel in 2018, and the second arrived at the beginning of 2020. With only 20 episodes to binge, it won’t take a lot of time to watch, but it will take a lot of grit to get through it as the episodes are as chilling as the cold eyes of the murderers facing the camera.

More from Netflix

Linda Lee Couch’s interview ranks as one of the most disturbing as the mother didn’t only kill her husband, but she buried him in the vegetable garden at the back of their house. If that wasn’t bad enough, she had her kids help bury him. Though Couch claims she killed him because of domestic violence, prior to her husband’s death, she forged a change in the house. The woman’s defense of her actions is truly horrifying.

Both seasons are gripping and addictive for fans of true crime so it’s no surprise that fans have been asking about its renewal since binging the second season. And with more viewers finding the series during stay-at-home orders, its popularity has only grown.

Will the series return?

Though I Am A Killer debuted on Netflix in March 2018, notification of its renewal for a second season wasn’t made until August 2019.

At present, though, there’s been no mention of a renewal for a third season, but given the popularity of the series, an announcement wouldn’t come as a shock. However, with the jails still on lockdown because of COVID-19, the opportunities to interview inmates won’t be available for quite some time.
