Best animated shows: Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts

This list wouldn’t be complete without at least one animated show that premiered in 2020. It was tough to narrow it down since 2020 has been flush with new animated shows. As for a show that hasn’t gotten the hype it deserves, Netflix’s Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts was an easy pick.

As mentioned above, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power wrapped recently and no doubt others are looking for something similar. While Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts aren’t exactly like She-Ra, the two shows share some traits. Both series focus on friendship, have a plethora of lovable characters and feature LGBT plotlines.

If you’re looking for a new cartoon series to watch during Pride Month, then Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts could be exactly what you need. Along with lots of action-packed moments, you’ll never be bored, watching Kipo and her friends’ adventures.

The series also bolsters a pretty fantastic cast including Karen Fukuhara as Kipo, Deon Cole, mainstay Dee Bradley Baker and even, Sterling K. Brown. Thus far on Netflix, Dreamworks has proven they want quality over quantity.

Despite the quick turnarounds of their series, all of them have gained a devoted fanbase and keep fans wanting more. If you haven’t given this series a chance yet, now is the perfect time before Season 2 releases on June 12th.
