ABC is moving The Bachelorette Season 16 to the fall
ABC’s fall 2020 schedule is here. It’s almost as you would expect, with a few strategic moves. One of those is airing The Bachelorette Season 16 in the fall, making it the first time the show will get a fall placement.
Usually, The Bachelorette is a spring show, premiering in May and wrapping up in July in time for Bachelor in Paradise. It keeps the fall open for parent series The Bachelor. However, plans had to change in 2020.

The Bachelorette with Claire Crawley couldn’t film due to the coronavirus. That mean the show couldn’t premiere in May as planned and ABC had to make some quick changes to the lineup. Instead of completely getting rid of the season, ABC is moving it to the fall, according to Deadline. After all, the network needs time to film The Bachelor.
We already know one bachelor who won’t make it through
There isn’t much to learn about The Bachelorette Season 16 just yet since filming isn’t yet underway. However, there is one thing we do know. Matt James, who is going to be one of her contestants, won’t end up getting the final rose.
James was picked to be the first Black lead of The Bachelor. It left a few fans scratching their heads considering he’s supposed to be one of those vying for Claire’s heart. Many fans had hoped Mike Johnson would get to be the lead since there likely wouldn’t have been the time to pick someone from Claire’s season and film for The Bachelor Season 23.
Personally, I was rooting for Johnson to be the next Bachelor. I wanted him before Peter Weber was picked, but it isn’t meant to be.
All we do know is that The Bachelorette will air Tuesdays at 8/7c as Dancing with the Stars will take the Monday night slot in the fall. That means ABC is moving to just one night of comedy in the fall. We don’t have an exact premiere date yet.
