The Wedding Date series is exactly what Netflix needs to branch out to in 2020.

Moving away from the new adult genre, we’re back to adult romances and this time, we’re talking about The Wedding Date series by Jasmine Guillory. Unlike the previous books on the list, this series is a bit longer. Every year, it seems like she has more characters to explore and stories to tell. Thankfully, they’re some of the most popular books and with five books currently out, Netflix would be stupid to not adapt these books eventually.

More from Netflix

The Wedding Date series is a set of companion books in which we meet characters in a previous book and then they get their own story. In the first book The Wedding Date, we met Alexa and Drew who fake date for a wedding Drew has to attend.

Then for the second book, it focuses on Drew’s best friend Carlos while the third book focuses on Alexa’s friends: Maddie and Theo. The fourth book follows Maddie’s mother and the most recent, fifth book follows Alexa’s sister Olivia as she has a romance.

As you can tell, the series has a lot of characters but each book has an adorable romance so they’re incredibly fun. Netflix could have a field day if they decided to adapt the series and it would likely be comparable to Always Be My Maybe. No two pairings for any of the books are alike either so it would nice to see a wide range of different romances. Of all the series on the list, this one would be better suited to a TV series than movies.
