Dan Broderick has managed to make Betty as paranoid as possible leading to her taking a bit of revenge. What’s she going to do when she goes on the offense on Dirty John Season 2, Episode 5?
Betty is still fighting against the new reality. She refuses to accept that Dan wants a divorce, and it’s going to push her deeper into this spiral she’s already on. After all, the gaslighting completely destroyed her mental state to the point of paranoia.

Well, it wasn’t exactly paranoia, was it? Everything Betty thought was true. Dan was having an affair, and now he’s continuing to nurture that relationship. At the same time, he’s going to continue destroying Betty.
However, this episode is going to give us another look at the story. It’s going to give us the story Dan is weaving for everyone to see. We’ve already seen some of this, but we’re getting the story he’s woven for Linda. Doesn’t she wonder whether Betty really was this unstable before Dan? Doesn’t she think about what Betty gave up for Dan’s future?
Over the last few episodes, we’ve looked back at Betty and Dan’s relationship. We’ve seen what happened when the two met, how they started their family, and the slow decline of the relationship. Now it’s time to pick up off the back of Dan’s smarmy way of arranging his divorce.
Betty goes on the offense, but what does that mean? How far is she willing to push this? Of course, we know how all this ends, but what makes her get to that point?
