We need some questions answered in The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2

The first season of The Baby-Sitters Club premiered on Netflix over the Fourth of July Weekend and was phenomenal!

The Netflix Original Series is based on the series of novels of the same name by Ann M. Martin. It follows the lives of Kristy Thomas; and her friends, Mary Ann Spier, Claudia Kishi, Stacey McGill, and Dawn Schafer, as they start a babysitting club in their town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut.

The series’s first season explores these young girls’ lives as they deal with whatever life throws at them while also balancing school and their babysitting responsibilities. As we wait for the announcement of the show’s renewal, let’s discuss what questions we need to be answered in The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2.

How will Kristy adjust to life in a new house with her stepfather Watson in The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2?

One of the biggest challenges that he Baby-Sitters Club founder and president, Kristy Thomas, faced was adjusting to the engagement between her mother Elizabeth and Watson Brewer. Throughout the season, Kristy made her disapproval of the couple’s engagement very clear to her mother’s disappointment. Still, Watson welcomed Kristy into his life with open arms and was the Baby-Sitters Club’s earliest fan, recommending their services to everyone that he knew.

By the season’s end, it seemed that Watson had made some headway into Kristy’s good graces, especially after offering to buy her a new bridesmaids dress, after the first one made her look a little too much like a banana.

Despite warming up to him, Kristy was still none too pleased to uproot her life and took that anger out on her mother on the day of the wedding. Thankfully, the two patched things up before Elizabeth and Watson headed off to enjoy their honeymoon.

However, how will Kristy adjust to her new life in The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2? Will she continue to butt heads with Watson, especially as he takes on a parental figure role?

Will Stacey reunite with Laine?

In Episode 3, we learned that Stacey has diabetes but has been keeping it a secret from the girls in The Baby-Sitters Club. Unfortunately, her secret was revealed to The Baby-Sitters Club and their clients when the members of a rival babysitting agency dug up a video of Stacey having a diabetic seizure at her old school.

Stacey, when confronted by her friends, admitted the truth and said that she didn’t want to face ridicule from them as she had from her old best friend, Laine, who’d originally circulated the video around Stacey’s old school. Although The Baby-Sitters Club’s clients would agree to allow Stacey to continue babysitting their children, the past would come back to haunt her once again when she ran into Laine at Camp Moosehead, where The Baby-Sitters Club was staying for the summer.

Although Stacey tried to be cordial as she worked with Laine on the camp play, along with Mary Ann, who’d become friendly with Laine, Stacey had a hard time letting go of her anger. After Stacey and Laine fell into a bush of poison ivy, they were forced to stay in the infirmary together, where Stacey was finally forced to confront the fact that she had driven Laine away after receiving her diagnosis. As a result, the girls reconciled.

Will they stay in touch and will Laine come to visit Stacey in Stoneybrook or in a twist of fate will Laine’s family move there?

Will Claudia attend art camp next summer?

Claudia Kishi’s greatest love is her artwork, which she dedicates her time to, often neglecting her math homework. Although discouraged from pursuing art as a professional endeavor by her parents and socially-awkward sister Janine, Claudia has found encouragement from her friends and grandmother Mimi, who she has a close relationship with.

When Claudia was selected to show off her work at the Eastern Connecticut District Art Show, she was thrilled, especially when she learned that one of the judges for the art show was the head of admissions for the Summer Art Institute in New Haven.

Ultimately, Claudia’s pop art piece would earn her a spot at the summer art program, and she would be encouraged by the New Haven judge to begin truly considering the purpose of her art. However, Claudia would choose instead to spend the summer at Camp Moosehead with her fellow babysitters. Will Claudia get a second chance, or will she learn that you must take an opportunity when it’s presented?

Are wedding bells in the near future for Mary Ann’s dad and Dawn’s mother?

After being shunned by The Baby-Sitters Club, Mary Ann found herself sitting alone at lunch until she was joined by the new kid in school, Dawn. The two quickly became friends as Dawn encouraged Mary Ann to embrace her quirks and introduced her to her own quirky family, which includes her mother Sharon and her aunt Esme, a woman thought to be a witch by the children of Stoneybrook.

When Mary Ann invited Dawn and her mother over for Thanksgiving, the friends were surprised to learn that Sharon dated Richard Spier, Mary Ann’s uptight father, in high school. Following this reunion, Richard and Sharon rekindled their romance; however, the relationship quickly ended after Sharon overstepped her boundaries while redecorating Mary Ann’s room, which Mary Ann’s deceased mother had designed. While the girls’ attempts to reunite their parents failed, Richard and Sharon ultimately made amends at Elizabeth and Watson’s wedding.

Will the two officially rekindle their romance and tie the knot by the end of The Baby-Sitters Club Season 2?
