Like any year, there were some TV shows that didn’t get another season. We’re used to it but that doesn’t mean the networks make the right decisions in our opinion. While there weren’t as many canceled TV shows in 2020, there were still some major ones.
This year was an easier year when it came to cancellations, but only really due to the health pandemic. With pilots not being able to film, more struggling TV shows managed to get a second chance.

With some hope, the pilot season will change forever. This will get rid of the May Sweeps where we end up with multiple cancellations on one day. That makes things harder, not knowing if we’re going to have bad news after bad news within the space of 24 hours.
In this post, we’re looking at the canceled TV shows from 2020 that hurt the most. They’re only from the broadcast networks, although there were certainly some awful cancellations from streaming services and premium cable networks.
The broadcast shows are ones that we’d love for streaming services to pick up. They’re shows that mean the world to us, whether it’s for progressive and inclusive characters and storylines or whether it’s because the characters just talked to us.
To avoid favoritism (and because it’s so hard to pick between some of these cancellations), this list is in alphabetical order. Here are the nine canceled TV shows in 2020 that hurt the most.
