Another month means there are new movies and TV shows headed to all streaming services. If you don’t feel like scrolling through the options Netflix, Hulu, and other services have, we don’t blame you! Hours can be wasted there.
Instead, we’ve got you covered with a quick list of what we believe is the best coming to each streaming service available. Here are some of our favorites, and if you feel like we missed one, be sure to let us know and we’ll gladly add it on to the shuffle.
Whether you are subscribed to Hulu, Prime Video, HBO Max, Netflix, or Disney Plus, we’ve got the best, must-see movies below. And don’t forget, Peacock also recently launched, so you have even more options than ever. Let’s get to it.

- World’s Most Wanted, Aug. 5
- Project Power, Aug. 14
- Lucifer season 5, Aug. 21
Project Power is a movie that stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jamie Foxx. It follows a mysterious pill that unlocks a unique power you hold inside begins to circle around the streets of New Orleans.

We all know Netflix always delivers when it comes to documentaries. On Aug. 5, be sure to watch World’s Most Wanted, which follows criminals who have avoided capture. Fan of Lucifer? We thought so! Watch season 5 of one of Netflix’s most popular shows on Aug. 21.

- The Binge
The Binge is a comedy starring Vince Vaughn, Grace Van Dien, Skyler Gisondo, and others! Sure, we wish there was more headed to Hulu to excite us, but we know this is going to be good! Stream it on Aug. 28.
Amazon Prime Video
- World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji
I’ll be honest, when it comes to streaming services, Prime Video has never been one of my favorite streaming services. Sure, it has offered some great additions, but they are few and far between. This month, the only thing that jumps at me is World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji, which streams Aug. 14.
Disney Plus
- Ant-Man and the Wasp, Aug. 14
- The One and Only Ivan, Aug. 14
- Beauty and the Beast, Aug. 21
Ant-Man and the Wasp is finally headed home for us to stream on Aug. 14. For new content, watch The One and Only Ivan, movie starring Bryan Cranston with voice work by Sam Rockwell, Angelina Jolie, and Helen Mirren. The story follows a gorilla forced into captivity.
Peacock
- Hitmen
The newest streaming service, Peacock, is making a fun debut with Hitmen, a series that stars Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins. Honestly, it looks hilarious! Watch the trailer HERE and stream it Aug. 6.
HBO Max
- Lovecraft Country
On HBO Max, you’ll want to watch Lovecraft Country on Aug. 16, which is the adaptation of the novel of the same name. The story follows a young Black man who travels cross-country to find his missing father. The movie stars Jonathan Majors, Jurnee Smollett, and Michael K. Williams.
