5 TV shows you need to check out this weekend: Aug 1-2
Les Miserables
If you love period dramas, you’ll want to turn your attention to Amazon Prime Video. The PBS Masterpiece Les Miserables is available to stream for free with your Prime membership.
The six-part drama follows the Victor Hugo novel more closely than the musical of the same name. We get to meet the characters that the show never had time to introduced, including the man Fantine fell in love with.
If you have only seen the musical, you may be surprised by some of the relationships between characters in the series. The show also has some great actors in roles you won’t be used to.
All six episodes are available to stream from Aug. 1.
Family or Fiance
I can’t imagine having to choose between my partner and my family, but some people do. That’s something this unscripted series follows. And it’s certainly one of the TV shows to watch this weekend.
Amie and Craig are just weeks away from their wedding. They need to fix a few relationship problems, which include problems with family members. Tracy McMillan is trying her hardest to make sure the families offer their blessings, but it does mean a whole lot of drama in the house is promised!
Family or Fiance airs on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 9/8c on OWN.
