Great news, Lucifans. The Devil is back, but this time from the depths of Hell. Lucifer Season 5A is now streaming.
Lucifer Season 5 was originally renewed as the final season. It was picked up for 16 episodes off the back of a successful fourth season (first as a Netflix Original), with those episodes split in two. Since then, Lucifer Season 6 has been confirmed as the final season.
The first set of episodes from Lucifer Season 5 dropped today. Here are five things you need to know.

Lucifer Season 5A cast
Tom Ellis is back as our devilish lead. He’s also stepping into another role, which I’ll leave a surprise if you chose not to watch the trailer.
The rest of the cast is back. Lauren German is back as Chloe Decker, Lucifer Morningstar’s love interest. Chloe’s ex-husband, Dan “Detective Douche” Espinoza, will return and will still be played by Kevin Alejandro.
Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, D.B.Woodside, and Aimee Garcia are also set to return. I’m sure we’ll see Scarlett Estevez return, too. She plays Chloe and Dan’s daughter, so it would be extremely odd for her not to return.
The big question mark is Inbar Levi. Eve decided she had to find herself at the end of the fourth season. However, fans were rooting for Eve and Maze’s relationship, so we better see that happen before the end.

If you haven’t seen the trailer yet but want to check it out, here’s a look at the trailer for the season. It does reveal a couple of spoilers here and there, especially when it comes to a certain devilish character.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 1 synopsis
Finally, we’re looking at what to expect from the fifth season. We pick up with Lucifer in Hell, where he chose to return after realizing the demons would take Amenadiel’s son if he didn’t. It was a huge sacrifice, just as Lucifer and Chloe were getting closer to being together.
Meanwhile, Eve decided to find herself realizing that her whole life she’d been made for a man. She couldn’t be herself in a relationship with Maze until she finds out who she is.
Amenadiel and Linda will continue raising their half-angel son. You know that’s going to cause more trouble, whether it’s demons or angels showing up.
