HBO’s Lovecraft Country: Watch Season 1, Episode 2 live

An all-new episode of HBO’s Lovecraft Country premieres tonight

HBO’s Lovecraft Country is not your ordinary television show. The protagonists are in a battle with two monsters at once. The obvious one is racism during 1950s America. However, as evidenced in the final act of last week’s premiere, racism isn’t the only enemy as flesh-eating creatures wreaked havoc at night, killing almost everything in sight.

In the first episode, Tic Freeman (Jonathan Majors) returned home to Chicago after his news of his father’s disappearance. Tic teamed up with his uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) and childhood friend, Leti (Jurnee Smollett), and set out to find his father. Thanks to a letter, Tic believes his father is Ardham, an extremely racist town in the New Hampshire/Massachusetts area.

The first threat of racism occurs when the trio attempt to get a hot meal, but end up being shot at and chased out of town. Then, the trip takes a scary turn when the trio is arrested by a racist police force at gunpoint in the woods in Devon County. This is where the show takes a mythological turn as flesh-eating creatures attack the group in the woods, killing every cop. Tic, Leti, and George eventually reunite in an abandoned cabin and survive the night after discovering the weakness of the monsters, which is light.

Lovecraft Country Season 1, Episode 2

The end of Lovecraft Country’s pilot ends with the trio arriving at a mysterious castle in Ardham. There’s an eerie feeling in the air after the group was welcomed into the castle. Episode 2 will the luxurious castle as Tic looks for his father. The trio will meet Christina Braithwhite (Abbey Lee), who saved the group in their high-speed chase, and her father, Samuel, who leads the “Sons of Adam.” Expect things to get even weirder in episode 2.
