Cuties movie: Where can you watch the controversial film?

Can you stream the Cuties movie online or wait to stream it? Here’s what we know!

The trailer and original promotional poster for the French movie Cuties broke shook the internet earlier this month. Where can you watch the movie?

The French coming-of-age film is the directorial debut of Maïmouna Doucouré, but the movie wasn’t as well-received as anyone in the cast and crew was hoping. Then again, I’m surprised not one person involved had second thoughts about the concept.

Cuties follows a Senegalese Muslim girl who becomes interested in a dance group, but it goes against the traditional values and culture of her family. Oddly enough, the movie claims to be against the hypersexualization of pre-teen girls.

The awful promotional poster Netflix picked to promote the film doesn’t help the movie. But is it all the streaming titan’s fault? The trailer doesn’t help its case, either. And while I do understand the message it was trying to send, I don’t believe they went about it the right away and have instead scared audiences away.

Can you watch Cuties online?

The movie is set to make its debut on Netflix on Sept. 9, 2020, but it premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival on Jan. 23 and was released in France on Aug. 19, 2020, so can you watch it earlier?

US audiences will have to wait until Sept. 9 to watch the movie as Netflix bought the exclusive streaming rights, so no other network will be streaming the movie.

What do you think about the controversy surrounding the movie? Will you be giving it a chance and check out Cuties on Netflix when it premieres or do you not even want to hear about it again?

Cuties premieres on Netflix Sept. 9, let us know if you’ll be watching the movie!
