Missing that perfect medical drama in your TV rotation? Yeah, me too. But we might be in luck very, very soon. Transplant is headed our way!

NBC’s new series Transplant could be just what the doctor ordered and we’ll be getting that much needed fix sooner rather than later when it premieres September 1.

The talented cast includes Hamza Haq, Laurence Leboeuf, Ayisha Issa, Jim Watson and John Hannah. According to the network, the plot goes as follows:

"When Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed (Hamza Haq, “Quantico”), a charismatic Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine, flees his war-torn homeland, he and his younger sister Amira (Sirena Gulamgaus) become refugees struggling to forge a new life in Canada. But if Bash ever wants to be a doctor again, he must redo his medical training from the ground up and obtaining a coveted residency position is nearly impossible. But when a horrific truck crash nearly kills a senior doctor right in front of him, Bash saves the doctor’s life and earns a residency in the biggest Emergency Department of the best hospital in Toronto."

On top of all of that drama to come, Dr. Bash must endlessly endure the ups and downs of being the new doc in town; trying to fit in, getting friendlier with potential friends, and finding his place amongst his new coworkers (and it doesn’t take a doctor to know how tough that process can be sometimes.)
