I spy some very good news for Archer fans! Season 11 is about to be here.

The hugely popular, long-time running animated show was originally set to make its regular return to the small screen in May of 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic halted production. Flash-forward to this summer, and FXX had announced that all of the unforeseen delays were thankfully over, and the season is now right around the corner.

So while we wait just a little longer, let’s go over what we do know so far about season 11.

The series will return with two episodes airing back-to-back on September 16, streamable on FXX and on FX on Hulu.

H. Jon Benjamin will continue on as the voice of Archer. Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Lucky Yates, Chris Parnell, and Amber Nash have also signed on. Rumor has it, this season will also include a smorgasbord of very special guests, including Simon Pegg and Jamie Lee Curtis, to name a couple.

So what happens to “the world’s deadliest spy” next? Much of the details are still top secret for now, but we do have a little insider scoop on what to expect in season 11. According to executive producers Matt Thompson and Casey Willis, there’s going to be some “major changes.”

When asked about the upcoming season, Thompson explained:

"The main thing is Archer and how lost he is. He feels everyone has left him behind. The only person who seems to give a f— is Pam, and she’s like, ‘Hey, buddy, let’s go get a drink, I still love you.’ But everybody else treats him like an afterthought, he’s not what he was, and he’s actually making them worse at their jobs. He’s in the way. And that exploration of truly something different for Archer as a character is exciting for us."

Willis agreed, adding, “Archer can’t understand how everything moved on without him; he’s the center of the universe in his mind.”
