Sister, Sister Season 1-6 are now available to stream on Netflix

Have you been craving a nostalgic binge-watch of Sister, Sister but don’t know where to find the classic sitcom online? Luckily, all six seasons are now available to stream on Netflix, beginning on Tuesday, Sept.1.

Although millennials grew up watching Sister, Sister on The WB (ABC for the first two seasons), and eventually on the Disney Channel and other cable networks in syndication, the sitcom hasn’t been available to stream online. In July, Netflix announced that it had acquired seven classic Black sitcoms for streaming, including Moesha, Girlfriends, The Parkers, and many more.

Sister, Sister stars Tia and Tamera Mowry as twin sisters who were separated at birth and later reunite by chance. Through persistence and circumstance, Tia and Tamera convince their single adoptive parents to move in together, creating a dysfunctional family all at once. While also navigating the ups and downs of high school, the twins deal with a new home life.

The series first premiered on ABC in 1994 before moving to The WB for its third season and the remainder of its run. Sister, Sister became the first of many shows on the network to celebrate hitting 100 episodes. Fans can probably still remember the iconic opening credits throughout the series and sing along to the catchy theme song.

Will there be a Sister, Sister revival?

As with most popular series from the 90s, talk about a potential Sister, Sister revival first picked up in 2018, when Jackée Harry effectively confirmed that one was in the works. Of course, considering we haven’t watched a reboot or revival, one hasn’t yet come to fruition. But talks just might pick up once the series starts streaming on Netflix and regains its popularity.

Whether Sister, Sister becomes popular enough on Netflix to warrant new discussions of a revival or not, it’s a welcome addition to all of our watch lists. Not every show needs to return for a new edition of what already worked in the past. Instead, it’s the perfect time to revisit a beloved Black sitcom and enjoy the laughs, memories, and nostalgia of a very funny show.
