Robert Barone – Everybody Loves Raymond

Robert Barone played the older brother of Raymond. He was portrayed by comedian and actor Brad Garrett. Robert was an NYPD police officer and lived at home with his obnoxious parents, Frank and Marie. Frank and Marie live across the street from Raymond and Debra.

Yes, the hit show was named after his brother Raymond, but the heart of the show is Robert as many of his feuding arguments are to do with Raymond or about Raymond with his parents.  Robert is hilarious to watch in Everybody Loves Raymond and therefore on this best TV characters list.

Raymond was always favored over Robert by his parents, especially his mother Marie. The brothers play a classic sibling rivalry bond. Garrett in 2005, won an award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Everybody Loves Raymond at the 57th Annual Emmy Awards as pictured above.

Robert had a funny little habit known as the “crazy chin.” The “crazy chin” habit relates to him touching food to his chin. We find out that Robert developed this little habit because he was jealous that his mother was doing the “flying airplane” while feeding Raymond when they were children.
