The official premiere date for Chicago Fire Season 9 is Wednesday, Nov. 11. It’s keeping the usual 9/8c timeslot, fitting in between new episodes of Chicago Med and Chicago PD. All three shows are returning at the same time.
However, it’s important to note the show hasn’t started filming yet. According to Deadline, the season is set to start filming on Oct. 6.
Chicago Fire Season 9 cast
There are a few cast changes happening during the ninth season. The first is the departure of Annie Ilonzeh, which was announced after the Season 8 finale. Fans will remember that she got an offer to get back into med school. Naturally, it’s something she wouldn’t be able to turn down, so she’ll be leaving the firehouse. We’re just not getting the goodbye that was originally planned.
We know who the replacement parademic is, though. Adriyan Rae will join the series as Gianna Mackey. Little is known so far, but she is a lovable troublemaker who is charming, fun, and witty. She’s also a little scrappy, which could initially cause problems for Brett.
One of our recurring guest stars as also been promoted to series regular. Daniel Kyri is sticking around for longer. Yes, that’s Ritter, who has become one of the best things about Chicago Fire in recent seasons. He’s friendly, calm, collected, and helpful.
The rest of the case is expected to return. Of course, this is Chicago Fire, and there are surprises now and then.
Chicago Fire Season 9 trailer
There isn’t a trailer just yet. NBC doesn’t tend to release trailers for the seasons until much closer to the time. Also, the show hasn’t even started filming yet so there’s no material to show except old footage!
We’ll bring a trailer once it’s arrived.
Chicago Fire Season 9 synopsis
We don’t have a synopsis for the season yet. NBC is pretty quiet with details about its One Chicago shows. It’s not even clear if there’s going to be a pandemic storyline as of yet.
All three shows are set in the same universe. We’ll be on the lookout for a pandemic storyline in any of them. If one gets a pandemic storyline, you can be sure the others will have to follow suit.
