Need a new drama series? There’s one headed to ABC soon. Here’s everything we know about Big Sky so far.
Big Sky was created by David E. Kelley and is based on the 2013 novel The Highway by C.J. Box, but don’t expect the ABC series to be a carbon copy of the pages. The creators and network promise many surprises, even for fans of the book.
While there is still a lot we need to learn about Big Sky, there’s plenty of information out now to make us look forward to the new series! Read on for what we’ve got so far.
Big Sky season 1 release date
With the fall 2020 TV season in full swing, this show won’t be the only new one to watch, there’s plenty more to come! This series does premiere towards the end of the fall, though.
According to the ABC network, Big Sky makes its landing on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. It’ll premiere during the 10/9c p.m. time slot.

Who all stars in the series? Kylie Bunbury, Katheryn Winnick, John Carroll Lynch, Dedee Pfeiffer, Ryan Phillippe, Brian Geraghty, Natalie Alyn Lind, Jesse James Keitel, Jade Pettyjohn, and Valerie Mahaffey. We’re excited to see what each of these actors has to offer and learn more about their roles!
Big Sky season 1 synopsis
The story centers on private detectives Cassie Dewell (Bunbury) and Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) as they team up former cop Jenny Hoyt (Winnick) to search for two kidnapped sisters in Montana. They soon learn that the pair of sisters are not the only girls who have gone missing in the area, there’s a killer out there that needs to be stopped before more women disappear.
