Most anticipated MCU shows coming to Disney Plus
Disney Plus will premiere a lot Marvel content in the near future, here’s what we’re most excited to watch
Disney Plus continues to put out Grade A content and they’re about to up their game in a big way. Since launching back in November 2019, the streaming service has racked up over 60 million subscribers and given some users a taste of their childhood.
Fans enjoy watching Disney classic movies like The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Lady and the Tramp as well as popular series Phineas and Ferb, Ant Farm, and Hannah Montana. These oldies are great, but we’re ready to see some new content. Notably, the ones that are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans got excited when a series based on Loki, Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson, and Scarlet Witch and Vision were announced. The coronavirus pandemic put everything on hold, including Hollywood. Production dates were delayed and shows were canceled.
No one was sure when production would start on WandaVision, Loki, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier or if the shows were still in the works. Luckily, they are, and so are several others!
Here’s a list of the most anticipated MCU shows coming to Disney Plus soon
WandaVision on Disney Plus
The most anticipated on the list, WandaVision, has been delayed so many times that fans wondered if it would ever grace our screens. Alas, the trailer is released and it’ll be on Disney Plus very soon.
A part of phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe taking place after Endgame, WandaVision follows Wanda and Vision trying to get used to their suburban lifestyle, but something doesn’t feel right.
One thing that definitely doesn’t feel right to fans and has everyone confused is how is Vision alive? Unlike Loki, who came back in the final Avengers film, Vision did not. We don’t have the answer yet, but we will soon. WandaVision is set to air in December 2020 and will consist of 6 episodes.
Loki on Disney Plus
Continuing after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Loki follows the god of mischief escaping confinement and jumping throughout history changing the outcomes. Thanos kills Loki in Infinity War, so how is he alive now?
Thanks to War Machine’s suggestion of going back in time, our favorite Asgardian is saved. When he escaped using the Tesseract an alternate timeline was created. There’s a reason he’s referred to as the god of mischief; we’re eager to see what will go wrong as he’s traveling through time.
No one can play the role better, so Tom Hiddleston will be reprising his role for the series. Joining him are Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Richard E Grant. No information on their roles has been given. Loki will arrive on Disney Plus sometime in 2021.
She-Hulk on Disney Plus
Little is known about the series at this time, but we do know the internet went into a frenzy when Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany was announced as the titular character. So far, she’s the only casting announced. Unlike the others, this series won’t be tied to the events of Endgame.
If you don’t have a cousin like The Hulk, find some new ones. After getting injured Jennifer Walters gets a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner who is Hulk. The transfusion gives her some of his abilities and she becomes She-Hulk.
Sounds interesting right? If you can’t wait to see this green giant on your screen, I have bad news. You’ll have to wait until 2022.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus
Captain America has passed his shield on to Sam Wilson. Now, Sam is teaming up with Bucky Barnes to take an adventure around the world. Still using the Falcon moniker, one question we want in answered is if Sam will become Captain America in the series or just continue being Falcon.
Confirmed in April 2019, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was meant to be the first MCU series on Disney Plus but was pushed back due to the pandemic.
"The official synopsis reads, “Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.”"
No official release date, but The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere on Disney Plus sometime in 2021.
Untitled Nick Fury Series on Disney Plus
Marvel fans erupted when the Nick Fury series was announced. An important part of a number of the MCU films, Fury is the go-to man for The Avengers’ needs. Many details aren’t known, but Samuel L Jackson will be reprising his role and starring alongside Kyle Bradstreet.
The director of S.H.I.E.L.D. made his first appearance in Iron Man, we last saw him was in Spider-Man: Far from Home aboard a space ship. We’ll keep you updated on when production for the untitled series begins.
Which of these MCU shows are you most looking forward to?
