Could Scream 5 revive the horror franchise?

The Ready or Not Directors are taking over Scream 5
As many Scream 5 fans know by now, the Weinsteins are no longer in control. Spyglass Media bought the rights to the movie, along with many other Dimension films. This is a great thing as the Weinsteins always took creative control over Kevin Williamson (screenwriter of the franchise) and always made Kevin do rewrites.
Spyglass hired Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett to helm the latest Scream installment after the late Wes Craven, who directed all four movies, passed away in August 2015 due to a brain tumor.

From seeing media articles, statements, and tweets from the Radio Silence team of how much they look up to Wes Craven and how big fans they are of the late horror mastermind, I think it’s safe to say we’re in good hands. Besides, how many horror movies have you seen out there that have the core cast members return in multiple movies?
Neve, David, Courteney, and Kevin Williamson are back!
Let’s not forget, Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courteney Cox signed on, and Kevin Williamson is an executive producer. There is also a complete script. Newcomer, Jenna Ortega, praised the new installment, telling Entertainment Tonight it fits perfectly into the franchise.
I’m a big fan of the Scream franchise, and I know this latest installment will do incredible at the box office. How do I know this? As I’ve said above, seeing statements, behind-the-scenes pictures, and videos on social media, it’s clear that Radio Silence is very determined and passionate about doing justice to both this movie and for Wes Craven.
Also, the original cast members wouldn’t have signed on if they weren’t confident in the new directors and writers. Ready or Not was good so I know the directors will do a great job with Scream 5. There are also two wonderful YouTubers who are passionate fans of Scream 5 and they do a great job with their videos for the fans. They are Critical Overlord and 3CFilms.

It looks like is finally the right horror and suspense we’ll be getting, and it may just be the next best installment after Scream 2.
