The Haunting of Bly Manor is now streaming on Netflix and one of the first mysteries is Peter Quint
The anthology series, The Haunting of Bly Manor, presents many mysteries, just as the first season did. One of the first big ones we meet is Peter Quint’s fate.
Please note, if you are still working your way through the episodes of The Haunting of Bly Manor, there are spoilers ahead! Finish binge-watching all the episodes before reading on. Or, perhaps, you are just curious and love spoilers. Either way, you’ve been warned.
Peter Quint (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) is first spotted in the first episode, starring down at Dani Clayton (Victoria Pedretti) from the balcony.
The unsuspecting au pair waves at Peter, assuming he is also a member of the staff, but he vanishes as soon as she looks away. When Dani asks about the man, everyone shrugs it off. It’s obvious they all get creepy vibes from the house in general, but no one talks about it.

Later, we learn a little more about Peter. Turns out, he’s not a very nice guy. He and the first au pair, Rebecca Jessel (Tahirah Sharif), were in a relationship. But Peter mysteriously disappeared and took millions from the Wingrave fortune.
Supposedly, a distraught Rebecca committed suicide after learning of Peter’s crimes and believing he abandoned her. Audiences, however, can tell that Peter is dead, but what happened?
How did Peter Quint die on Bly Manor?
It doesn’t take too long for audiences to be shown Peter’s tragic fate. Though he sorta had it coming, he is suddenly and unexpectedly grabbed by the lady in the lake. She takes him by the throat and doesn’t let go, dragging him across the hall until he runs out of breath.
He returns quickly after, only to realize he is dead as he helplessly watches the lady in the lake drag his body away. This is when we first learn that everyone who dies on Bly Manor, is stuck there.
Peter reunites with Rebecca, eventually, and begins to think of a sinister plan to escape. And he is willing to do whatever it takes.
