Supernatural: What does the telescope not working really mean?
Supernatural revealed what the telescope does in the most recent episode
After years of wondering, Supernatural finally revealed what the telescope is for. It’s not just a telescope, and the fact that it’s not working isn’t a good thing on so many levels.
During Supernatural Season 15, Episode 14, the Winchesters learned that a wood nymph had been living in the bunker. Actually, the nymph had placed the bunker (and herself) on standby mode and the Winchesters reactivated everything with the push of a button. That meant the bunker, for an episode, was in full working order, including the telescope.

Except, the telescope didn’t work properly. At the end of the episode, Mrs. Butters the Wood Nymph shared that the telescope is an interdimensional scope. It looks at all the other worlds that Chuck has created, and Dean mentions he couldn’t see anything.

Well, that’s not good!
Mrs. Butters didn’t seem overly worried, but we know the telescope not working on Supernatural is a much bigger sign. It’s supposed to see all the different worlds created, and Dean couldn’t see anything. That means there are no other worlds out there.
We knew Chuck was destroying worlds. We had a different version of Sam and Dean Winchester show up, and while amusing, there was a sadness to the episode. Their world had been destroyed, just like so many others.
Dean not being able to see anything at all suggests that their world is the only one left. Chuck is ready to come after the Winchesters that finally led to him deciding to bring an end to it all.
With six episodes left of the series, that’s not surprising. We also know that Episode 19 is set to be a season finale with the series finale more as a tribute to the Winchesters. So really, there are just five episodes left. The upcoming one focuses on finding Amara, so it won’t be long until God is an extremely dangerous problem.
