Is A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting on Netflix appropriate for kids?
By Sandy C.
A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is now streaming on Netflix, but is it for kids?
A new movie has arrived on Netflix just in time for the weekend. A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting may not be meant for you, though.
Netflix has just about everything available for subscribers to stream. From crime dramas to romantic comedies, we all love the variety of content! But when it comes to A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, we have mixed feelings.
Usually, the title gives it away. Is it appropriate for kids or is this not a family movie? Netflix fans know that The Babysitter and The Babysitter: Killer Queen are not for kids, for example. So what about A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting?
A quick look at the trailer reveals that this may be a family movie, but what age is best? After all, it is the Halloween season.
Should kids watch A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting?
As I always say, you know your kid best! The movie is rated PG. If you have a young one at home who loves spooky movies and fun adventures, this may be the movie to watch with them. It’s also Halloween soon, so this movie couldn’t have come at a better time.
If you’re wondering why I stated that this may not be the movie for you, though, what I meant is that A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is actually more for kids than adults. You may not enjoy it if you watch it alone. In fact, you may not even enjoy it with the kids.
Simply put, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting is not much fun. Despite its 71% fresh score at Rotten Tomatoes, I personally didn’t enjoy the movie at all. And most viewers agree with me, as you can see from the rotten audience score.
If you are willing to tough it out for the kids, go for it! Otherwise, find another good family horror or wait until the kids are asleep to tune in to the real scares.
