You want to catch up on Warrior on Cinemax, especially since it’s one of the most underrated shows on TV right now. Can you watch it with kids? What is the Warrior age rating?

There’s no doubt you want to check out this series, especially if you’re a Bruce Lee fan. Now in its second season, the series has gone from strength to strength. There are some excellent moments that connect to Lee’s past, but it’s not over the top the way many homages to the movie star are. It certainly helps that Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, is one of the executive producers on the show.

So, you probably want to connect with your kids and watch this together. Is it suitable?

Warrior age rating makes it clear it’s not suitable for kids

This isn’t something to watch with the younger children in the house. The official Warrior age rating is TV-MA, which is basically R-rated for TV.

It’s for 18+, although some countries put it for 16-year-olds, according to IMDb. So you’re in the US, you’ll need to follow the TV-MA rating.

It’s rated like this for a number of reasons. It’s full of sexual acts and nudity on screen. If you thought there was a lot on Game of Thrones, wait until you watch this! It all starts from the very first episode.

Then there’s the violence. This isn’t just the odd one or two fight scenes. From the very first introduction of lead character Ah Sahm, we get a taste of the violence to expect. That only gets stronger as the season continues.

There is “pervasive vulgar language” throughout the season. Pretty much, that means the F-bomb is dropped a lot, as you would expect with many shows on Cinemax. There are not as many mentions of the C-word like there is on The Boys on Amazon Prime Video, so maybe it’s on the tame side.
