5 WTF moments from Warrior Season 2, Episode 4
Warrior Season 2, Episode 4 had a lot happening to get to the explosive ending
Warrior Season 2, Episode 4 picked up off the back of the previous episode but ended explosively. It’s time to break down the biggest WTF moments from the whole episode.
“If You Don’t See Blood, You Didn’t Come to Play” certainly pushed a number of the storylines forward. It also continued the irony of the Irish wanting the Chinese to go back home. As we get to the halfway mark, this episode was relatively quiet on the fighting front, but it brought plenty of threats, and the ending made up for it.

Nellie Davenport made her intentions clear to everyone in the previous episode. She wants to give the women who come from China a better life in America. She doesn’t want to see them suffering in brothels. It’s not something everyone is happy about considering there are white people suffering, too, but Nellie knows that the Chinese have absolutely no chances if she’s not willing to step in.
And so, she is starting by working with Ah Toy, who has a woman who would like to go with Nellie. It looks like Ah Toy may even consider more girls going with Nellie. Does she want out of this game? Did she even want to get into it in the first place?
There’s so little we know about Ah Toy, and not just how she knows how to fight. Warrior Season 2 will hopefully go into more of her past.

Mai Ling forcing her way into a legitimate business
The Chinese are struggling in Chinatown. With everyone outside of Chinatown trying to work against them (except the odd few), that’s not surprising. The Exclusion Act is coming, but we can’t focus on that for now. Instead, we need to focus on the Chinese looking to start businesses.
In Warrior Season 2, Episode 4, one wanted to get his laundry business off the ground. He wanted a small loan, but Mai Ling isn’t interested in that. She wants a legitimate business opportunity, and she forces her way into this one. Mai Ling is going to start losing followers at this rate.
Chao’s willingness to take a stand
Did we really expect Chao to take some sort of side? He’s never liked the Fung Hai, but he’s not had a way to take them down before. Now he does, and he’s ready to do it.
He tells Sergeant O’Hara not to retaliate against the Fung Hai yet. That’s what the Fung Hai expects. Instead, he will find a way to make Zing the swordsman.
Chao knows who the swords”man” is, but does seem to have some loyalty towards Ah Toy. So, he asks for one of her swords to plant on Zing. It’s time to take the Fung Hai down.
Penny Blake’s threats
Chao wasn’t the only one standing up for himself. Now Penny Blake is standing up for what she believes in. Mayor Blake continues to threaten to pull the contract, but she makes it clear that can’t happen without it costing him a fortune.
And that’s not the only legal counsel she has. She’s ready to make Samuel’s life a living hell with the evidence against his scandals she has piling up. The question is whether she kept the evidence at home or at work. If it was at work, there’s some bad news…
The explosive ending
Sophie, angry at her sister, gave Leary a way in. And after his encounter with Ah Sahm, who points out some of the ironies in the Irish’s arguments against the Chinese right now, Leary is ready to take action. Sophie gets Leary into her sister’s business so he can blow it up.
And that’s exactly what he does, although there is a fight there. Sophie may have regrets after everything that happened. She’ll also be in shock.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of questions about what the attack means for Penny. Will she have the other businessmen supporting her after this? Will she have to pay a penalty since she won’t be able to honor the city contract? Has the Hop Wei’s opium been destroyed?
