Peter Kay’s net worth is huge even with his three-year work hiatus
Anyone who has been a fan of Peter Kay’s from the start of his comedic career in the late 1990s and early 2000s know he’s sadly been absent from the spotlight for the past few years.
The British comedian became a household names with shows such as That Peter Kay Thing, Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere, and of course arguably his most popular, Peter Kay’s Car Share. In addition to his television stints, he also was known for his awesome stand-up performances.
What happened to Peter Kay?
However, in more recent years, Kay has basically disappeared. In 2017, he cancelled his stand-up tour, only citing “unforeseen family reasons” for the unexpected move. Of course, fans were extremely worried about the comedian, and since calling off his shows, he’s only been seen in the public a handful of times.
It appears Kay would rather remain out of the spotlight (for now, at least), which makes it all the more interesting that a new report from the Mirror claims he’s still believed to be the richest comedian in the UK.
Peter Kay net worth
According to the publication, Kay made a reported £3,000 an hour last year. They also allege that his current net worth is valued at £32.4 million. Meanwhile, Celebrity Net Worth reports that his net worth is $70 million. While there’s not a confirmed number at which the comedian is worth, it’s clearly a very large number.
So how in the world is Peter Kay making so much money if he hasn’t been performing any comedy on stage or on our TVs in the past three years?
Well, the Mirror points out that Kay’s two companies, Good Night Vienna Productions Ltd and Hussein Traders Ltd, are cashing in some serious money. Good Night Vienna is the comedian’s own production company, while Kay is the company director at Hussein Traders.
While we don’t know for sure what’s going on with Kay while he’s not in the spotlight, it’s safe to say he’s not struggling financially.
