Lessons the Assassin’s Creed TV series can learn from the games
How can Netflix fix the issues with Assassin’s Creed?
Like with any potential cash cow, Hollywood continues its pursuit of the video game audience by adapting some of the most popular titles to the big and small screen. This time, they’re taking another shot at Assassin’s Creed.
We recently heard that this stealth adventure franchise will get a live-action TV series on Netflix. The platform has previously housed shows like Castlevania, The Witcher, and Dragon’s Dogma, which are some of the only decent video game adaptations out there. Because of that, the streaming service seems confident in redeeming the property after its abysmal big-screen effort in 2016.
The series revolves around a centuries-old conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood and the Templar Order. Unbeknownst to many, these two groups have secretly waged war throughout human history, enacting precise moves to influence events the world over.
Each side wants to ensure the safety of humanity and security of society according to their ideology, and this often sends them in search of ancient artifacts capable of untold power. Whoever attains the artifacts in the past controls the future.
